The Obamas and The Bidens brought some holiday cheer to the Walter Reed Army Medical Center on Christmas Day this year. Joe Biden personally served food and met with family members of wounded soldiers. Both Joe and Jill made their rounds to see soldiers in the Intensive Care Unit who couldn’t attend the dinner. This visit came as quite a surprise, since the Bidens were scheduled to be at their home in Wilmington, Delaware on Saturday.
After Walter Reed, Vice President Biden spent some quiet time in Delaware, but that’s not all. Today Joe announced he’s taking the family to the U.S. Virgin Islands for the week, just as he did last year. Don’t expect any scheduled appearances from the low-key Bidens. While the temperatures will be a nice, cozy 70-80, showers are predicted every day. In the meantime, President Obama is spending the week with his family in Hawaii. As you can imagine, the #1 and #2 commanders could use a break from the daily chaos too.
