Jim Webb can make a push for VEEP. A moderate southern Senator with a penchant for reaching across the aisle. Experience and maturity. Likeable yet out of mainstream Washington. (Or, should that be, likeable and out of mainstream Washington).
A decorated military veteran and former Secretary of the Navy to a Republican President, Ronald Reagan. (Of course, that was less then one year, but, he was there).
Will only a few years in the Senate help or hurt the Junior Senator from Virginia? Is he the moderate who will help swing Virginia and other southern states to the Democrats?
