At his first public appearance in support of Barack Obama, Walter Mondale told a group of 50 seniors and campaign staffers in St. Paul, Minnesota that they will need to confront attack ads and racism in the election season. "It's trash time," Mondale said, "And a lot of decent people think where there's smoke, there's fire."
Mondale added that he has no wish to be part of the Obama administration, although he'd be happy to give advice when asked -- although it is interfering with his fishing trips.
