George Clinton, 4th Veep, served from 1805-1812. He was the first VP to serve two different Presidents. (Thomas Jefferson during his second term and James Madison during his first) He died in office in 1812. George Clinton was Governor of New York, its first, from 1777 to 1795 and again from 1801-1804.
